Senior Congress leader K Kesava Rao on Thursday said the party was committed to the separate State cause.
Seeking the support of all concerned, Rao said the bifurcation of the state was mentioned by the Prime Minister at a press conference. The Union Home Minister also tried for consensus on the issue.
Responding to a statement by Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhar Rao that the Congress should be defeated in the bypolls, Keshav Rao wondered how the party rout would help formation of Telangana.
KCR had said the Congress rout should send a signal to the Sri Krishna panel that the whole region faavours a separate State.
