Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah and All-India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of the state M Veerappa Moily on Monday met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi here on Monday. They apprised the Congress president of the latest developments in the State.
The Chief Minister accompanied by the Union Law Minister meeting party supremo Sonia Gandhi within less than 48 hours after the suspension of Ambatti Rambabu, a close aide of Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy, assumes significance. Jagan reacted strongly to the suspension of his close aide Ambati Rambabu from the party.
Rosaiah and Moily are learnt to have briefed the Congress chief about the state unit's preparations for the organisational elections and the plans for celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Congress Party.
As reported earlier, the disciplinary action against Rambabu on Saturday night followed his alleged outbursts against Rosaiah and for indulging in anti-party activities.
