Swine flu has cropped up again in Vizainagaram. A patient from Huda Colony was infected with swine flu and was tested he had been shifted to Visakhapatnam for further treatment. However his condition is stated to be serious.
With swine flu cropping up in the Vizianagaram district yet again, the District Medical and Health Officials are taking steps to curb the menace.
According to sources the district health officials are taking all steps to ensure that there would be no outbreak of the deadly virus. A full scale publicity programme is on to alert the public, and test results would be received over the phone from the Institute of Preventive Medicines (IPM).
As for the reasons for the sudden rise of the virus, the sources explained that this virus gets strengthened when temperatures were down and humidity is high. The district administration is gearing up to deal with the situation and a full- fledged report on the steps being taken has been asked for by the collectorate.
Meanwhile, the Vizianagaram DMHO, Dr Ch. Mahesh, urged people to be very careful about swine flu in view of a death registered in the Visakhapatnam district recently.
