Rich tributes paid to PV Narasimha Rao

Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Monday lauded the services of former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao to mark his 90th birth anniversary.

 Placing a bouquet on the tomb of the former prime minister at P V Jnana Bhoomi on Necklace Road, the Chief Minister said Rao ushered in reforms during his tenure and laid a foundation for the economy with Manmohan Singh, who was his finance minister then. 

He said PV is the first Telugu to adorn the seat of the Prime Minister. Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Chakrapani, advisor to the state government and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao and Minister Ponnala Laxminarayana Reddy paid rich tributes to Rao.

 PV's family members, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Bandaru Dattatreya and Telugu Desam leader K Vijayarama Rao paid tributes to the leader.
