The state government has taken measures to contain Swine Flu and rain-related diseases across the state, stated Principal Secretary to Government (Medical Health and Family Welfare) P V Ramesh.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, he said the government is making every effort to contain swine flu by strengthening the government and private hospitals in the state and creating awareness among the public.
He said the state so far reported 23 Swine Flu cases and four deaths since January this year. He said 17 district hospitals, 11 teaching hospitals and 28 private hospitals in the state were equipped with facilities including isolated wards for the patients.
The state government had utilised 60,000 Swine Flu vaccines out of 80,000 sent by the Centre, he stated. He appealed to people not to take Anti-Swine Flu medicines without the advice of the doctors. All hospitals with teaching facilities, fever hospitals and Area Hospitals like the one at Kondapur were provided with medicines to tackle swineflu cases.
