Former minister Damodar Reddy on Wednesday criticized senior Congress leaders of Telangan for approaching the Governor on Polavaram issue.
Levelling of charges against Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Major Irrigation Minister and seeking a change in the design of the Polavarma project should have been taken up with Chief Minister K Rosaiah or with the party High Command, Reddy suggested.
A senior leader like Palvai Govardhan Reddy approaching the Governor has sent a wrong signal to the public in general. As a senior Congress leader Palvai should have known that the people of Telangana do not want the Polavaram Project, and why should he rake up this issue when by-polls are round the corner, questioned Damodar Reddy.
