Trying to capitalize on the internal squabbling in the ruling Congress in the State, Telugu Desam Party seems to be toying with the idea of fielding a third candidate in the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections.
With such a piquant situation prevailing in the ruling Congress, the TDP supremo, Chandrababu Naidu seemed to be weighing the pros and cons of fielding a powerful third candidate. Pinning his hopes on cross-voting, the TDP chief will be fielding the third candidate.
The TDP chief is targeting Jagan’s group and some of the dissidents of Praja Rajyam Party. If his calculations go right then he may be able to wrest a third seat.
Cashing in on the situation, the PRP announced that it would join the fray in fielding its candidate. To make sure that all its four candidates make it to Rajya Sabha, Congress is seeking the support of PRP in this regard.
