The Srikrishna Committee, appointed by the Centre to go into the situation in Andhra Pradesh, will hold another round of consultations with political parties if the need arose.
At the end of a three-day visit to Hyderabad, V.K. Duggal, member-secretary of the committee, told the media, ``If all the issues stand clarified then there is no need for a second round of consultations. If the panel likes to know anything further then it will invite political parties to highlight those facts.’’
The panel has held meetings with major parties, Telugu Desam, Praja Rajyam, Majlis Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, TRS, CPI and CPM excepting the ruling Congress.
The five-member panel has received over 1.20 lakh representations, many of them simple postcards, and interacted with about 50 organisations, he said.
``After these consultations, the panel will start field visits. The field visits would last for a month beginning the last week of June,’’ observed Duggal.
``The main intention of the committee is to hear the views of the broad section of the people and organisations, besides meeting the political parties,’’ Duggal added.
After the completion of field visits, the panel will sit for three months from August and analyse the representations given by the political parties and organisations on various subjects with experts. Finally, the panel would present its report to the Centre.
