YS Sharmila, sister of YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, today met loyalists of her late father YS Rajasekhar Reddy and asserted to bring "Rajanna Rajyam in Telangana". The meeting convened by YS Sharmila came amid reports that she is planning to float a new political party in Telangana.
Addressing YSRC party workers gathered at her residence in Lotus Pond, Hyderabad, Sharmila reminded people about the vaccum that was created after the demise of her father and leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
"There is no Rajanna Rajyam in Telangana. Why it's not there. Why can't we bring it," she said in a brief conversation with reporters outside Lotus Pond, the YSR family residence in posh Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. Sharmila said she would soon make an announcement regarding the details of the party.
Earlier today, Sharmila met YSR loyalists from united Nalgonda district. It was the first of a series of meetings she will be holding over the next few days. It is being reported that during such meetings, Sharmila will be seeking the opinions of close confidants before taking any decision as regards her next course of action.
In the meantime, Sharmila, who arrived in Hyderabad from Bengaluru with her husband Anil Kumar on Monday night, came out of the house and waved at her supporters.
Interestingly, the posters that appeared at her residence had no picture of AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is perceived that this was done on purpose as CM Jagan has become more popular as leader of Andhra Pradesh and any reference to him might work counterproductive for Sharmila as there is a possibility of the state political parties, mainly TRS, rousing Telangana passions and turn the tide away from YS Sharmila.
