The Srikrishna Committee, which is looking into the demands for and against bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday heard the views of the Telugu Desam Party's Telangana group.
Presenting its arguments before the panel, the Telangana group of TDP stressed the need for a separate Telangana. The panel gave a patient hearing to the TDP group for three hours in the morning.
The TDP leaders presented an in-depth report with facts and figures covering all aspects of the region’s historic background, constitutional provisions and the government failures, economy, revenue, taxation and expenditure, services, employment opportunities, agriculture, river water issues, language, culture and social variations.
The meeting was attended by Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Kadiam Srihari, Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, Vijayarama Rao and 21 TDP leaders from Telangana.
As reported earlier, TDP will be represented by three groups before the Srikrishna panel. One is the Telangna TDP group headed by Nagam Janardhana Reddy, Coastal Andhra TDP group and the Rayalaseema TDP group.
