Hyderabad, Aug 19 :
The Telugu Desam Party leader Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy on Wednesday stated that the government should take up immediate discussion on drought prevailing in some parts of the state.
Briefing media after submitting a memorandum to the Speaker in his chambers, he said that all leaders cutting across party lines, urged the Speaker to direct the government to take up immediate discussion on drought.
They advised the Speaker to give more time for discussion on public issues and consider conducting the House in afternoon session also.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday urged the government to declare the state as drought-hit to get more funds from Centre.
It advised all parties not to politicise drought for getting mileage. BJP state spokesman Ramachandrarao alleged that both TDP and Congress have no genuine concern to tackle drought in the state. He does not find any reason why the government is delaying in declaring the state as drought-hit.
