Chief Minister K Rosaiah will leave for Delhi on Wednesday for a three–day visit.During his Delhi visit, the Chief Minister is expected to hold discussions with United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and several other senior Congress leaders.
As per schedule, the Chief Minister will meet Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday evening and apprise her of the latest developments in the state. He will also discuss with her on the choice of candidates for the ensuing MLC elections and the 12 seats for which Asembly by-elections will be held in Telangana region.
During his discussions with Sonia, the Cabinet expansion issue may figure prominently, according to close Congress circles.
Later, the CM will call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and request him to grant national status to Polavaram project. Rosaiah will also appeal to the PM for the release of funds to the ongoing projects in the state.
On Thursday, the CM will meet Union ministers of various departments and will impress upon them for clearance of pending projects. The Mannavaram joint project with BHEL is also likely to figure in the talks.
On the last day of his stay in Delhi, the Chief Minister will attend the Planning Commission meeting which is slated for April 16. Later, Rosaiah is expected to fly back to Hyderabad.
