The YSR Congress Party, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stormed to power in Andhra Pradesh with a landslide victory, winning 151 seats in the 175-member Assembly. Jagan, as the YSR Congress chief is popularly known, will be taking oath as the new Chief Minister on May 30 in Vijayawada.
Star director Puri Jagannath’s brother P Uma Sankar Ganesh who lost the election in 2014 on YSRCP ticket has won from the same constituency of Narsipatnam defeating TDP senior leader and former minister Ch Ayyannapatrudu. He scored 81,533 votes and Ayyannapatrudu justified with 60,815 votes.
Apparently, Puri Jagannath is elated, not just because his brother Ganesh won the elections. He is overjoyed with YS Jagan’s victory. The director calls YS Jagan as a warrior for his fighting spirit and ground to earth nature. He says his brother is a great fan of YS Jagan.
“I’m not into politics, but I love warriors. I look at YS like a lion king,” says Puri who is presently directing Ram in a mass entertainer iSmart Shankar.
