Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu paid a visit to Cherlapally Jail on Wednesday to console the two TDP corporators who were languishing in the jail in connection with an alleged attack on lawyers at Indira Park recently.
Sympathizing with the prisoners, the TDP chief advised the two party activists against getting carried away by their emotions. He suggested that the two look at things in a realistic manner and restrain themselves in all that they do.
He slammed the Rosaiah Government for neglecting the development of the State and Hyderabad in particular. ``It was only during the TDP rule that Hyderabad emerged as the second best city in India for adopting the `Clean and Green' concept . You can see how the city is now, ‘’ Chandrababu remarked.
Hitting out at the Congress, the TDP chief observed, ``Rosaiah Government is sleeping and whiling away precious time in the Assembly without worthwhile discussions. It’s time for them to wake up and work for the development of the state.''
The presence of Naidu on the premises of Cherlapally jail created tension when pro-Telangana activists obstructed his entry and raised `Jai Telangana' slogans. They asked him to specify his stand on Telangana.
The TDP chief, as usual, maintained his silence on the Telangana issue.
