Sobbing inconsolably, G Prashant’s parents on Tuesday said the authorities must do something to bring back his body to the city so that his last rites can be performed here.
The grief -stricken family of the 28-year-old MBA student, who was killed late on Sunday evening, are yet to come to terms with his death. He was killed by unidentified robbers at a convenience store in Oklahoma City. His body was found when customers walked in SK Foods Store and a case of homicide registered.
Prashant’s father G Rajaiah said he learnt about his son’s death from Prashant’s friend. “So far, no one from the administration has bothered to contact us or inform us about the incident,” he said.
Rajaiah, a State Health Department official, requested the authorities in India and in the US to make the arrangements so that his family receives the body at the earliest.
A resident of Santoshnagar, Prashant had left for the US two months ago and had taken up a part-time job at the store. He had called his home in Hyderabad on Sunday morning about his new-found job.
