Praja Rajyam Party Legislators stalled proceedings in the State Assembly leading to a brief adjournment when they protested against the adoption of resolution urging the Centre to amend the Presidential Order of 1975 without any discussion in the House yesterday.
PRP members rushed to the podium as soon as the House assembled for the day and staged a sit in protest.
They said that the government did not give an opportunity to the PRP to register its protest over the one-line resolution adopted unanimously over the free zone issue.
The resolution, adopted in the Assembly on Thursday, urges the Centre to delete clause(f) of Para 14 of the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) order, 1975.
After repeated appeals to protesting PRP members to go back to their seats, Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
