Sub-quota for BC women sought

Demanding sub-quota for backward class women in the Women’s Reservation Bill, which provides 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, the leaders from various forums and parties convened a meeting at a hotel in the city on Friday.

Hailing the Women’s Reservation Bill, which was passed recently in the Rajya Sabha, the leaders opined that by providing special quota, the oppressed women can be uplifted socially and economically in the society.
