Former mayor of Kurnool, Bangi Ananthaiah was suspended from the Telugu Desam Party on Tuesday. The former mayor was aspiring for Rajya Sabha ticket from TDP, but the party authorities were reluctant to offer due to stiff competition.
On Tuesday, he lodged a complaint with the police in Kurnool that Chandrababu Naidu, KE Krishnamurthy and other TDP leaders were threatening him with dire consequences.
On learning that Bangi Ananthaiah has lodged a complaint with the police the TDP authorities immediately announced that it is suspending Bangi from the party.
It is really a setback for the party. Bangi Ananthaiah was at forefront in his fight against corruption, and also known for his unique forms of protests like dressing himself like a beggar, pulling carts against price rise, eating grass against corruption etc during the late CM YSR rule.
Meanwhile the TDP cadre from the Kurnool district have asked the party to revoke the suspension on this leader who was with the party for many years.
