Amid high drama Mynampalii Hanumantha Rao, MLA from Medak withdrew his resignation letter on Monday bowing to pressure from his followers.
The Telugu Desam MLA, who submitted his resignation to the speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy at Renigunta airport on Sunday, retraced his steps and took back the resignation letter. Under pressure from his supporters, who staged a sit-in protest in front of his house here on Monday, the MLA decided to withdraw his resignation.
As reported earlier, the TDP MLA, in a bid to win the hearts of agitating students decided to quit from the Assembly on March 9.
If by-polls are conducted for Medak Assembly seat, he even volunteered to abdicate his seat to the kin of the Telangana martyrs. ``I would allot the party ticket to the survivors of those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana. I will support the candidate and work for his or her victory,’’ Mynampalli promised.
