``Our two-day trip to Hyderabad was successful and I am happy, the first trip took off smoothly,’’ said the head of Srikrishna panel Justice Srikrishna here on Friday. The first meeting was formal and introductory without any politicial tinge attached to it, he observed.
Speaking to the media on the eve of his departure to Delhi after meeting the leaders of recognized political parties in the state, he said ``the panel’s head office will be stationed in Delhi.’’
Elaborating on the manner in which the panel will go ahead with its functioning, Srikrishna explained ``while listening to groups, all the panel members will be present. But while trying to garner more detailed information on a particular issue or a specific problem, only a member will visit the spot and acquire the first hand information.’’
``We will be back in the first week of April to hear the views of political parties and leaders on the issues in the State,’’ he noted.
Before leaving Hyderabad for Delhi he gave a mild shock to the Telangana leaders. The statement made by Union Home Minister Chidambaram On Dec 9 was misinterpreted by Telangana leaders, Justice Sri Krishna suggested.
"On that day, Chidambaram only said the process of Telangana has started. It has a completely different meaning. 'Process for Telangana' means that the UPA government would look into Telangana formation with consultations of all the leaders of the Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema regions," he said.
