The Crime Station Police on Monday arrested three more persons in connection with a drug racket busted by Madhapur police recently.
The three were arrested on the basis of revelations made by film producer K Venkateswara Rao and his accomplice Shobharaj, who were arrested by Madhapur police.
The three were identified as Ibrahim, a chemical factory owner in Bangalore, supervisor Chandrasekhar and Arun, an agent who facilitates deals.
Police found that Chandrasekhar and Ibrahim were supplying drugs to the film producer, who was in debts after a Telugu film he made flopped and his real estate business hit by misfortune.
During the interrogation, Rao admitted that the two supplied Ephedrine from Bangalore and Arun played a mediator role.
The duo managed to sell 75 kg of Ephedrine and pocketed nearly Rs 15 lakh after giving away shares to those in the racket.
Ephedrine being manufactured in some units of Karnataka is being smuggled out of the state with the help of the duo, the investigations revealed.
