Having alleged that director Sanjay Leela Bhansani indulged in distorting historical facts, Karni Sena created unnecessary nuisance and created obstacles for film's release. The movie coldn't get released in four states thus the state governments violated Supreme Court's orders as well.
As a matter of fact, the film elevated the respect on Rajputs to the core. In spite of the troubles being faced, the film has picked up at the box office. The movie has breached a milestone of Rs.100 crores by its first weekend leaving a huge shocker to Karni Sena.
While Deepika Padukone essayed title role as a protagonist, Ranvir Singh stole the show with his dark shaded role in this historical magnum opus. Shahid Kapoor is seen as a king Ratan Singh. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, himself, scored music and produced the film.
