Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha has claimed that the TRS Workers Union would sweep the Singareni Workers' Union elections which will be held on October 5.
Addressing a meeting on Singareni Workers Union elections at Telangana Bhavan here on Friday, Kavitha said that Telangana Coal Mines Union had played an active role during the statehood movement and it had been fighting for the rights of coal mine workers since a long time. She said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has created history by increasing the salaries of Singareni workers and took several other measures for their welfare. She said that the Chief Minister also made an attempt to introduce Hereditary Jobs to Singareni workers. However, she alleged that the opposition Congress approached the court to stop the move.
Kavitha said that the Congress-affiliated AITUC has been opposing Hereditary Jobs in SCCL. She announced that the TRS would announce its manifesto for Singareni Workers Union on Saturday.
