He said the cooperative farming has received good response from the farmers throughout the State. The cooperative farming would help the farmers focus on agri-allied activities such as piggeries and value-addition to get income from other sources, he pointed out.

He said the Government would encourage cooperative farming in at least two villages in each district.

The CM said, “We are not going to enforce this on farmers. Only those villages that pass a unanimous resolution in favour of cooperative farming would be picked up.”

He said that all the victims in irrigation projects, who lost their lands, houses and property, would be rehabilitated properly.

He said the Government has taken up Jalayagnam works to bring more lands under irrigation facility.

Union Minister for Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy was the chief guest for the function. Minister for Home Smt Sabitha Indra Reddy, Minister for Agriculture N Raghuveera Reddy, Minister for Irrigation Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for Medical Education P Sudarshan Reddy and Deputy Chairman of Agriculture Technology Mission D A Somayajulu were present.
