Vijayawada, Feb 4: The Government has decided to set up women's police stations in all the districts of the state and vowed not to compromise on issues while maintaining the law and order in the state.Interacting with the media, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said ``apart from providing the security to the people and their properties, the Government is concerned about maintaining laws and order in the state.Answering a barrage of questions on Telangana, she said ``violence will not be tolerated at any cost.
We won't compromise when it comes to maintenance of law and order,’’ the minister emphasized.Referring to the Telangana demand, she opined '`it is a sensitive issue and should be handled delicately.’’The Home Minister on Thursday flew in to Vijayawada to console the bereaved family of Lakshman Rao, car driver of P Prabhakar. She said the culprits will be punished according to the law.Consoling the family members, Sabita said she would ensure that one of Rao’s family is provided with a job and assured all help to the family.
The Home Minister later drove in to Prabhakar’s house to comfort his grief-stricken widow, Narmada Devi. Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao also visited Prabhakar's house earlier on behalf of the Government. ''I have come here on behalf of Chief Minister K Rosaiah to express our sorrow to the bereaved families,’’ Sabita explained.
