The Telangana Congress Legislature Party has decided to meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to seek probe by a Central agency into the Miyapur land scam.
The decision was taken in the CLP meeting held on Thursday after a delegation of Congress leaders led by TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on the issue. The CLP reiterated its demand for a CBI enquiry into the issue.
Briefing the media persons after the meeting, Deputy CLP leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and MLA A. Sampath Kumar informed that the CLP has sought an appointment with the Union Home Minister to submit a memorandum. The Congress leaders are also likely to meet other Central leaders on the issue.
The CLP also passed resolution expressing condolences over the demise of Congress MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy, ex-Union Minister and film maker Dasari Narayana Rao, legendary poet Dr. C. Narayana Reddy and former MLA Nagam Krishna Rao. The CLP demanded that the Telangana Government name an irrigation project after Palvai Govardhan Reddy.
The Congress leaders also announced their support to the agitation by Singareni workers over dependent jobs. They also asked the government to permit 'Vidyarthi Garjana' in Osmania University on June 18. They demanded that the government take action on the allegations of irregularities in the Group-2 recruitments. They also wanted stern action against those involved in supplying spurious seeds and fertilizers to farmers.
The meeting, chaired by CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, was attended by Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and other legislators. However, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, DK Aruna and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy did not attend the meeting.
