CM to launch 121 Minorities Residential schools today

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao will launch 121 minorities residential schools at a function to be held on Monday.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) Secretary B. Shafiullah informed that based on the unprecedented success of 71 existing TMR Schools, the State Government had sanctioned 121 additional TMR School from the academic year 2017-18. He said that the government has also transferred 12 existing Minorities Residential Schools and 2 Jr. Colleges from TREI Society to TMREIS taking the total tally of TMR Schools/Colleges in the State to 206.

Shafiullah said parents have shown tremendous interest in admitting their wards in TMR Schools this year. More than 1 lakh applications were received for admissions during academic year 2017-18. He said 5th, 6th 7th and 8th Classes are being run in the existing 71 TMR Schools whereas in the newly opened TMR School 5th, 6th and 7th classes will function. The Schools transferred from TREI to TMREIS are having classes up to 10th Class and Jr. Colleges are taking admissions for Intermediate 1st year this year.

He said with 206 institutions under its belt, the TMREIS would provide corporate style free education with high class hostel and other facilities to more than 53,000 students this year. Children will also be encouraged to participate in Games and Sports and will be exposed to various Scientific Research and Developments such as Robotics etc., 

Shafiullah said since the announcement of New TMR Schools, the TMREIS made all out efforts to meet the hurricane task of identifying buildings for establishment of Schools and providing infrastructure facilities. In first phase, 71 out of 121 New TMR Schools will be inaugurated on Monday. Remaining Schools will also be inaugurated within a week.

Selection of Principals and Dy. Wardens already completed and they have taken charge of their respective Schools. Non Teaching Staff selection process also got completed and they also joined in their respective Schools

Pending appointment of Teachers by Telangana Public Service Commission, selection of teaching staff also done by appointing qualified teachers on outsourcing basis and the teachers already joined the new TMR Schools.  Text books to these schools have already been supplied by Department of School Education, he said.
