The YSR Congress Party activists on Friday held protests across Andhra Pradesh demanding Special Category Status for the State and also in protest against the denial of permission for YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to participate in candlelight rally at R.K. Beach in Visakhapatnam.
Dharnas, rastha rokos and protest rallies were held at various places in Andhra Pradesh. Several leaders and activists of YSRCP were also arrested by the police.
Speaking to media persons, SRCP's political secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy slammed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for denying permission to Jagan to conduct the candlelight rally. He said that curfew like situation was created at R.K. Beach area and those supporting the SCS for AP were specifically targeted.
Meanwhile, on social media website, Twitter, Jagan thanked people for participating in the candlelight rallies held on Thursday throughout the State in demand for Special Category Status.
