Tirupati, Jan 23: Communist Party of India (CPI) state general secretary K Narayana on Saturday demanded that the state government release a White Paper on World Bank agreements signed on Friday sanctioning loan for drinking water projects.Interacting with media persons in Tirupati, Mr Narayana demanded that the government brief all political parties over the agreements before implementing them in the state.He blamed Congress government for the current confusion over the issue of separate Telangana by saying that some leaders in the ruling party were playing a dual role and speaking in two tongues.
Mr Narayana also demanded that the government cancel coal excavation tenders at Tadicheral mines and entrust the work to Singareni collieries.He said that the CPI would organise massive agitation on January 28 at Khammam against illegal iron ore mining at Bayyaram. He also demanded that the Union and State Governments take action against illegal mining and hand over all iron ore excavated from the region to the public sector Visaka Steel Factory.The awards would be presented by Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on January 29.
