Leader of Opposition in AP and YSR Congress Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday accused the TDP Government of neglecting the people suffering during kidney related ailment in Prakasam district.
Speaking at a public meeting at PC Pally in the district after meeting the fluorosis and kidney patients, Jagan demanded the government to pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the people who died due to epidemic in the area. He said that the government failed to provide safe drinking water to the people of the district due to which the number of people suffering from the epidemics are on the rise.
Coming down heavily on the TDP Government, Jagan alleged that the government has drastically reduced funds under a popular scheme like Aarogya Sri there by playing with the lives of thousands of poor and the beneficiaries. He said that the TD government allocated only Rs 368 crores for Aarogya Sri scheme when the health department demanded Rs 910 crore for the same. Chandrababu Naidu has diluted an important scheme benefitting lakhs of people in the state, he alleged. Due to government’s apathy the poor are forced to shell out thousand of rupees to undergo dialysis and other treatment, Jagan rued.
