Telangana TDP on Wednesday alleged that the TRS Government was being indifferent towards the plight of the farmers.
Speaking to media persons at the Assembly Media Point, TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy slammed the TRS Government saying that after the party came to power farm suicides were on the rise. He said that as many as 2300 farmers committed suicides after KCR became CM. He demanded that the Chief Minister console the families of the farmers who committed suicides due to mounting debts. He leader also demanded the government to pay a compensation of Rs 6 lakh to the families of farmers who ended their lives.
Earlier, the TDP members wore Black Khandwas (scarves) in the Assembly to register their protests against the alleged indifferent attitude towards farmers’ issues in the State. The TDP member alleged that the Chief Minister was arriving at 12 o clock in the Assembly and was involved in ‘monologue’ in the Assembly. The CM is casting ‘Sholay’ film in the Assembly, he remarked.
