Pragati Bhavan is a public office, not my own house: KCR

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has finally reacted to the criticism surrounding his swanky camp officer-cum residence Pragati Bhavan.

Speaking during the debate on housing scheme in Assembly on Tuesday, Chandrasekhar Rao said that Pragati Bhavan was not his own house. The Chief Minister of the day would stay in Pragati Bhavan house, he said.

He said that it was a public office and was built with an aim to ensure that the common people had easy access of it. He said that the Chief Minister house does not have 150 rooms. He said that the camp office constructed during former CM Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's tenure had no ample space for parking. For any public office parking space is important, he added.

KCR said that Pragati Bhavan had ample space to conduct review meeting on regular basis and the aim of building such a spacious building was public welfare. He urged the Opposition parties to desist from making baseless allegation regarding the CM house and added that there was no individual interest in building the Pragati Bhavan.
