KCR assures transparency in housing scheme

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said that the State Government was taking up the construction of double bedroom housing scheme in a very transparent manner and assured that there was no scope for irregularities in the housing scheme.

Speaking on the issue of weaker section housing in the Legislative Assembly, Chandrasekhar Rao said that the government would select the beneficiaries of the housing scheme through a draw of lots. Earlier, there were massive irregularities in the housing schemes where beneficiaries were selected through political interference. Crores of rupees were embezzled in the name of beneficiaries, he added.

The Chief Minister said that there would be no political involvement in the selection of beneficiaries and the process would be transparent where only officials will oversee the selection of beneficiaries through draw of lots.
