MLC and Congress spokesperson Ponguleti Sudhakar on Tuesday objected to the TRS leaders’ claims that Telangana achieved statehood due to the hunger stir undertaken by the TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.
Speaking to media persons here, Sudhakar Reddy said that UPA chief Sonia Gandhi played a key role in granting statehood to Telangana. He reminded that the TRS chief had acknowledge on the floor of the Assembly that Telangana became a reality due to Sonia Gandhi. He said that the TRS leaders were trying to take credit for the statehood to Telangana and added that it was the Congress government that granted statehood to Telangana.
The Congress leader slammed KCR saying that the CM who claims to be leader of masses was supporting demonetization, which is an anti-people decision. He questioned to why KCR did not demand liquid cash to the state at a time when there is severe cash crunch in the state. He slammed that Centre saying that the Modi government is not taking any measures to ease out the difficulties of the people in the wake of demonetization of high value currency notes.
