Lok Satta party chief and former MLA Jayaprakash Narayan on Friday urged the Centre to fulfill its promise of providing special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking at a book release function here, the Lok Satta chief said that the TD and BJP should honour the people’s aspiration who voted the two parties for their promise of special status to the state. He said that special status was required to boost industrial growth and employment in the new state. He urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to pursue the issue with the Centre and make efforts to get the special status to state.
