Welfare schemes to continue despite fiscal crunch: CM

Hyderabad, Jan 19: Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday assured elected representatives from Srikakulam district that power would be supplied for seven hours a day despite the shortage of power and, if needed, the government would buy power from the neighbours. He also said that all welfare schemes initiated by the government will continue despite the financial crunch the state was facing.Addressing a delegation of MLAs, MLCs and elected representatives of local bodies from Srikakulam who met him as part of the ongoing district-wise review meetings,

Mr Rosaiah said that the government present a full-fledged budget in the Assembly during the budget session. He said that in Srikakulam district, 1,17,996 weaker section houses under Indiramma scheme have been completed out of total 2,58,192 sanctioned.Giving details the Chief Minister said that so far 20,849 surgeries were performed under the Rajiv Arogyasri health care scheme costing the state exchequer Rs 58.36 crore.Mr Rosaiah also assured the delegation that over one lakh youth will be provided job cards and 4.43 lakh job card holders were provided work under NREGP.
