The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Saturday termed Gadwal MLA DK Aruna’s resignation from the Assembly membership as a mere drama and alleged that the Congress leader was trying to derive political mileage.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman Niranjan Reddy said that Congress leader Aruna was politicizing the issue of reorganization of district. He lashed out at the Congress leader saying that she never resigned to put pressure on her party high command to grant statehood for Telangana but is now announcing her resignation demanding district.
The TRS leader alleged as to why Congress leaders did not demand the creation of Gadwal district during the all party meet called by the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, in a separate press meet, TRS MLA Venkateshwar Reddy also took potshots at the Congress leader saying that her resignation was a political stunt and an attempt to gain political mileage. The TRS MLA said that the TRS government was reorganizing the districts only with an aim to make administration easier. He said that the new districts can’t be created on the basis of pressure and resignation tactics. A scientific approach is being adopted by the state government in the issue, the TRS leader said.
