The torrential rains in Telangana especially in Hyderabad wreaked a havoc for the denizens making it a nightmare to ply on roads. The ruling TRS government drew flak over its failed city planning but amidst all the criticism MP K. Kavitha claimed that a section of media is projecting Hyderabad in a bad image which doesn’t hold true.
She said that the recent rains were not as bad as they have been projected, adding that it’s a plan to defame Hyderabad which is actually surging higher and raising standards for other cities as well. Nizamabad MP further said in GHMC out of 24 circles only five were ravaged by the downpour.
However, prime localities like Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills may have been saved from incessant rains but it may be recalled that many areas in Hyderabad were inundated with water, low lying areas were submerged with flood making the government to take help from Army and NDRF to evacuate and provide food and shelter for the rain-hit victims
