Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao has claimed that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has emerged as the only party which fulfilled all the promises that it made with the people.
Addressing the inaugural session of TRS 15th Plenary in Khammam on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said besides implementing the promises made in the party's manifesto, the TRS Government introduced several new schemes. They include schemes like Kalayna Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak and supply of Fine Rice.
KCR said that the TRS was launched 15 years ago to achieve statehood for Telangana. He said at that point of time, the TRS leaders and workers faced several hardships. However, they managed to convince 36 national and regional parties to support the demand for Telangana State. He said people have voted for TRS as a reward for its role in Telangana formation.
The Chief Minister said that the Telangana State has emerged as a Welfare State and an amount of Rs. 35,000 crore were being spent on different sectors. He said Rs. 4,000 crore were being spent only on pensions. He also listed out various schemes being implemented by his government.
KCR said that the Telangana State was growing at a pace of 15% per annum. He also informed that the State so far received investments of about Rs. 30,000 crore. He said soon Hyderabad would emerge on the top in IT exports.
The Chief Minister said nearly 350 barrages would be constructed on Krishna and Godavari Rivers which would irrigate about 1 crore acres of land. Similarly, he said all households in the State would get tapped water supply in the next three years under Mission Bhagiratha.
KCR said several States in the country were emulating Telangana schemes and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi was quite impressed with the performance of TRS Government.
The Chief Minister said there might be an increase by 34 seats in Assembly while 10 seats will increase in Legislative Council by 2019. He said that the proposal was under active consideration of Central Government.
