Reiterating that the state government is committed towards development and welfare, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stressed on isolating criminals and corrupt from politics. He said that the politically unemployed opposition is raising issues to obstruct development.
In a teleconference with 8,000 party leaders and public representatives, the Chief Minister explained how Visakhapatnam, battered by Cyclone Hudhud, is now able to host national and international events. After the CII Partnership Summit, the city is hosting International Fleet Review from February 4-8.
Elaborating on the state government’s efforts to fast pace development, the Chief Minister suggested the officials to ensure full utilization of MNREGA funds. “While we are currently utilizing up to Rs 3,500 crore, we need to reach up to Rs 6,500 crore,” he said.
While the government is busy with developmental activities, the Chief Minister pointed out some elements in the state are provoking unwarranted hurdles tarnishing the image of the state. Since the opposition has no other issues, they're trying to raise caste, regional issues to disturb the development, he added.
He added that the opposition party is obstructing Amaravati development, Pattiseema and other welfare initiatives by the government. “The Opposition has tried to defame Vijayawada on the call money issue. Their leaders have also disrespected Speaker of the Assembly, he said.
The Chief Minister said that he aims to make Rayalaseema horticulture hub, while bringing in best practices in agricultural activities. “Instill a feeling of regionalism among the people to partner in development,” he said. Meanwhile, he suggested the leaders from village to state level to interact and educate people on the government’s developmental activities.
Chandrababu Naidu also reiterated that the government is clear that the interests of people from Backward Classes will not be sacrificed. Leaders need to speak repeatedly and instill confidence in them in this regard, he said. “Our aim is to eliminate poverty and economic inequality. Since you are being involved in every development work in the villages, take advantage of that. Educate people on the government’s cement road programme, pensions and welfare activities while exposing the opposition on their obstruction attitude,” he added.
