Hyderabad, Dec 23: Seeking permission to launch a ‘shanti yatra’ in the city, former Rajya Sabha member and film actor Mohan Babu called on Chief Minister K Rosaiah at the Secretariat on Wednesday.The actor asked the Chief Minister to give his concurrence for the peace rally.Rosaiah reportedly gave a patient hearing to the actor and said he would consider the request. Mohan Babu later lodged a complaint with Director General of Police Girish Kumar against Tuesday’s attack by alleged TRS activists on his son and daughter and the crew who were filming a sequence at Kompally.
The film actor, an outspoken supporter of the Integrated Andhra agitation, had lashed out at Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by KChandrasekhar Rao for creating a bad blood among the Telugu-speaking people on Tuesday. He had stated that Hyderabad was part of Andhra Pradesh and films and politics should not be linked.The TRS activists, besides damaging the camera and film equipment, also tried to attack Manoj and Lakshmi, who managed to escape to safety.The attack received flak and waves of protests not only from the film fraternity but also people who are not connected to the industry.
