Visakhapatnam, Dec 23: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of students on Wednesday warned the Centre of launching rail-rokos if the Government failed to make a clear announcement in the next 48 hours on the proposed bifurcation of Telangana state.Talking to mediamen, the JAC members said they would intensify their protests and rasta-rokos to mount pressure on the Centre to take a favourable decision on the integrated Andhra Pradesh.
As part of the agitation, the members called for a state-wide bandh in the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts on Dec 26 and detain trains at all stations.The members criticized the Centre for the inordinate delay in the announcement of its decision. “Though we have been staging dharnas and agitations for 10 days, the Centre is delaying its decision on Telangana issue,” the JAC members alleged.The members also called student unions of all universities to join the state-wide bandh on Dec 26 and make it a grand success.
