Hyderabad, Aug 3 :-
There was a heated exchange of words between the Opposition party and ruling party members in the Assembly on Monday over the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project works.
When the Assembly met for discussing the budget, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members alleged irregularities in the Hyderabad metro rail project works taken up by the government and demanded for discussion on the issue. They also alleged there was no transparency in the works.
Protesting against the government’s reply, the Opposition members including TDP, BJP, CPI and CPI (M) staged a walkout from the assembly. However, the PRP and MIM party members expressed their protest only on the issue.
The Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy also suspended 8 TDP members for coming late to the House and for violating rules and regulations of the Assembly. The Speaker suspended them for 2 hours. But the TDP members trooped into podium and staged a sit-in dharna. The suspended members include G Muddukrishnamanaidu, Nagam Janardhana Reddy, Motkupalli, Narendra, Ramana, Amarnath and Kesav.
