Hyderabad,Dec 15:MLas and MLCs from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseem took out a rally to mark the 57th death anniversary of Potti Sriramulu.During the rally slogans were raised in protests against the bifurcation of the state.The rally coincided with the death anniversary of Potti Sriramulu who died 57 years ago while fasting for a separate Andhra from the then Madras Presidency.
The procession started from CLP office and ended near the statue of Potti Sriramulu in Assembly precincts.The MLAs and the MLCs paid homage to the martyr and garlanded the statue.Further the MLAs and MLCs revived their demand for the unified Andhra recalling the memories of Potti Sriramulu’s sacrifice for the cause of a separate Andhra Pradesh.
