Rich tributes were paid to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 67th death anniversary on Friday. It was on the same day in 1948 when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse.
Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreyya, Deputy CMs Kadiam Srihari and Mahmood Ali, ministers including Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Etala Rajender and T Harish Rao, paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapughat in Langar Houz. They recalled his services for the nation and appealed to all people to follow his ideals to come up in their lives.
They also participated in the all-religious prayer meeting and observed silence for two minutes.
Tributes were also paid to Mahatma Gandhi at a programme held in the State Legislative Assembly premises.
