About an hour before taking oath as minister in Telangana Cabinet, Talasani Srinivas Yadav resigned from his post as Sanathnagar MLA.
Talasani, who was elected on TDP ticket from Sanathnagar Assembly constituency in 2014 elections, announced that he had sent his resignation letter to Assembly Speaker S Madhusudan Chary. He also resigned from the primary membership of Telugu Desam Party and faxed the letter to the party office.

He thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for inducting him into his cabinet, he assured that he would work hard to strengthen the TRS in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Born on October 6, 1965, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, began his political career in 1986 by contesting the municipal elections for the corporator's post from Monda Market. He got elected as MLA from Secunderabad Assembly constituency in 1994. He got re-elected in 1999 and also served as a minister in the cabinet of Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He held the portfolios of Labour, Tourism, Culture and Archaeology. However, he lost 2004 elections, but made a comeback in by-elections held in 2008. But he could not retain the seat in the general elections held in 2009.
In 2014 elections he contested and won from Sanathnagar Assembly constituency on TDP ticket. He was reportedly upset with the TDP leadership after he was denied the post of floor leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly. The differences deepened to the extent that he decided to quit the TDP to join TRS. Finally, on October 29, he along with MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy, joined the TRS.
Talasani's resignation from the MLA's post was necessary to avoid disqualification under Anti-Defection Law. Therefore, in order to avoid both, the criticism from opposition parties and disqualification, he resigned from the post of MLA to become a minister in KCR's cabinet.
