Jagan blasts Chandrababu for failures

YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today mounted a scathing attack against TDP chief and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for failure to keep up the promises made on the eve of elections, and  alleged that 86 farmers have committed suicide. They  voted to TDP believing that   Chandrababu Naidu  will waive off their loans.

Addressing a Maha Dharna here, Jaganmohan Reddy announced that he will meet the  victim’s families to console them, after Sankranti festival.

It was a  fact that there was arrears of Rs.87,000 crore farmers’ loans. Everybody including Chandrababu Naidu knew it. But,  the former has changed his version after the elections  stating that he spoke about crop loans and not farmers’ loans, Jagan  said adding that there were about one crore farmers, but the  TDP government is providing financial help to only 22 lakh people.

Criticising the  TDP rule, the  YSRC president asked when the chief minister would give unemployment allowance and said  he is playing with the lives of old people in regard to  sanctioning pensions to them. Jagan also flayed Naidu for deceiving the DWCRA women in regard to loans waiver.

Jagan also condemned the way TDP government has distributed food pockets during the time of Hudhud cyclone.

He said that the farmers  lost 65.98 lakh acres of crops due to Hudhud, but  not a single rupee was given as crop insurance as farmers did not pay their loan installment believing that Chandrababu would waive off loans.

Jagan also said that Chandrababu has  done nothing  for the fisher-folk. He said this is only the beginning and more protests would follow. He thanked everyone for supporting the Maha Dharna.

Jagan  further said there were 43.11 lakh welfare pensions at the time of Naidu taking over.  Since October, even the existing pensions are not being given. While Rs 3000 crore was needed for paying pensions, the budgetary allocation is only 1300 crore. This  means pensions worth  Rs 2400 crore have been cut.

He also said that while Rs 2400 crore is needed for fee reimbursement, Chandrababu Naidu has not allocated even a single rupee.
