KCR assures safe drinking water for all households

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has assured that the State Government would ensure supply of safe drinking water to all households through tap connections.

Addressing the mandal-level engineers of Rural Water Supply Department at Prof Jayashankar Agriculture University at Rajendranagar here, KCR said that the State Government has proposed a Water Grid to ensure that all citizens get safe drinking water at their households. He sought the full cooperation of the officials in implementing the scheme. He asked the senior officials to conduct review meetings every week to check the status of implementation of developmental schemes. He claimed that as a MLA of Siddipet, he had successfully implemented the drinking water project in his constituency. He also asked the officials to create awareness among the villages on constructing toilets at their house.

The Chief Minister also reiterated his government's commitment to develop Hyderabad as an international city. He said funds would not be a constraint in the development of Hyderabad. Further, he said industrialisation would be given top priority and the government has already identified nearly 10 lakh acres of land for the purpose. He said more than 20,000 acres of land is expected to be available after the survey for the purpose of the industrialisation. He hoped that Telangana would emerge as the industrial hub of India.

KCR said that the government would ensure all facilities to those who invest in Telangana State. Almost 10 per cent of water will be given to industries and 10 per cent will be used for drinking purpose. The remaining water would be utilised for irrigation. He asked the officials to take measures to conserve every drop of water in their areas.
