Former MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy denied the allegations of having paid money to get BJP ticket for the Medak Lok Sabha by-elections.
Addressing a press conference at State BJP office at Nampally here, Jagga Reddy slammed Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao for accusing him of buying the BJP ticket. "I would have bought the TRS ticket if I had the money," he said and alleged that it was Kotha Prabhakar Reddy who paid a huge amount to get the TRS ticket to contest for Medak Lok Sabha seat in by-elections.
Jagga Reddy also ridiculed the TRS argument that he was a supporter of united Andhra Pradesh. He said if TRS leadership was so particular about people who opposed Telangana, then why it was making friendship with the MIM which openly opposed the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He claimed that he began his political career from the BJP, the first party which gave the slogan of One Vote, Two States. He said he was elected as the Councillor and also served as the Chairman of Municipal Council as a BJP candidate. He said it was unethical on the part of TRS to brand him as a support of Samaikhyandhra while begging for alliance with the MIM.
The BJP leader asked Harish Rao to restrain from leveling baseless allegations. Else, he threatened to expose the TRS leaders during electioneering for Medak by-elections.
The former MLA accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of exploiting the Telangana sentiments. He said although Telangana State was achieved due the sacrifices made by students and employees, KCR ignored both the groups and instead, gave tickets to the rich and elite including those were against Telangana. He also asked the TRS Government to stop harassing the BJP and TDP workers in the State.
Jagga Reddy promised that if he gets elected from Medak Lok Sabha seat then he would ensure proper supply of power and drinking water to all the houses in Medak, irrigation water for farmers, new railway tracks, Metro Rail and other facilities. He also assured that he would make effective representations to the Centre to grant National Project status to Pranahita Chevella Dam. With BJP in power at the Centre, he said all the promises could be fulfilled with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
