Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Thursday accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of ignoring the welfare of farmers in the State.
Speaking to media persons after paying tributes to farmers who were killed in police firing 14 years ago at Basheerbagh, Ponnala said that the Chief Minister looks keen on foreign visits than focusing on the welfare of farmers and other sections. He said KCR has been following the path which TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu followed as the Chief Minister in 2000. While TDP Government resorted to police firing on innocent farmers, TRS Government lathicharged protesting farmers in Medak.
Ponnala said that KCR should pay immediate attention to the rising number of farmers' suicide in the State.
He paid rich tributes to farmers Vishnuvardhan, Balakrishna and Balasubramaniam who were killed in police firing in 2000.
